TOPEKA — The National Agricultural Statistics Service will conduct the annual January Cattle Ssurvey during the first two weeks of January. Kansas Agricultural Statistic’s Jason Lamprecht said his agency will contact about 1,700 operations in Kansas. This year’s survey will reflect the impact of the severe drought and its devastation on Texas and Oklahoma cattle herds, he said. The drought also likely affected Kansas cattle operations, he said. Ranchers and cattle operators will have several options in responding for the survey. Survey results will be published Jan. 27.
