RANTOUL — In the wake of several burglaries in the area, citizens of Rantoul are considering forming a Neighborhood Watch in which residents are trained to watch out for each other. County Commissioner Don Stottlemire, who represents Rantoul, said a group of Rantoul residents listened to a presentation by Franklin County Sheriff’s Lt. Jarod Fredricks recently and plan to have a community meeting about the Watch idea later. Sheriff Jeff Curry said he would like to start Neighborhood Watch in the smaller communities and Rantoul is the first community that has been approached.
