The data is out, and while the number of drunk-driving related deaths across the country dropped in 2010, they soared in Kansas. The Kansas City Star reports that the Sunflower State recorded the second-biggest increase in drunken-driving fatalities up 45 from 2009. The only state Kansas trails is New York, up 46 from the previous year. Across the state line, Missouri’s data showed a drop from 2009 by 44 deaths. In total, Kansas recorded 168 fatalities from drunk-driving related traffic injuries for 2010. The information was compiled by the National Traffic Safety Administration.
