CARBONDALE — The parents of a 4-year-old Carbondale boy have been charged of suspicion of child endangerment, because the child was accidentally shot by his 5-year-old brother Dec. 18. The Osage County Herald-Chronicle reported that Mack Pagel, 26, and Brittany Deprato, 25, are each free on $2,000 recognizance bonds. A court hearing in Osage County District Court is Thursday morning. Hunter Pagel was wounded when he was shot with a shotgun by his brother at the family’s home. He was taken to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, where he was later released.
