STOCKTON — Rooks County Sheriff Randy Axelson has been arrested on suspicion of distributing methamphetamine. The Hays Daily News reported that Axelson was arrested Friday by Kansas Bureau of Investigation agents after an investigation involving several law agencies, including his own department. Ellis County Attorney Thomas Drees has been appointed as special prosecutor in the case. Axelson is in the Ellis County jail at Hays without bond until a court appearance Tuesday. Axelson has been sheriff two years.
