OTTAWA–Another business is leaving town. Accelpak has been sold to another company in Iowa, and several local people will lose their jobs. Tom Weigand of the Ottawa Chamber of Commerce says it has bright spots and a down side. On the bright side, Gene Beauchamp, owner of Accelpak, will stay in Ottawa and do sales and it also opens up a couple of manufacturing buildings that can be marketed to other companies. On the down side, several people lose jobs–Weigand said he’s not certain of the number, but estimated it at 8 or 9 jobs lost.
