OTTAWA–You may have thought that Sears is in serious trouble with the recent announcement of store closures nationwide. However, there’s more to the story. Mark Feldkamp, owner of the Ottawa Sears Store, said the closure only affected corporate stores, but not hometown stores. In fact, Feldkamp said he’s hearing that 300 more hometown Sears stores may be opened. He says that holiday business was brisk at his store; up 32 percent over last year. Feldkamp said many customers are again purchasing appliances.
