KINCAID — Law officers may be a little closer to finding the identity of the man who tried to rob the Citizens Bank of Kincaid on Christmas eve. Anderson County Sheriff Jeff Hupp told the Anderson County Review that Carthage, Mo., police have recovered a vehicle reported stolen from Chanute. The vehicle matches the one photographed by bank security cameras and used by the robber. The bank installed new security defenses following a robbery that occurred in 2007 and bank employees used the defenses to lock the Christmas eve robber out of the bank. The man, wearing a coat, hoodie and skeleton mask and carrying a handgun, drove away. Hupp said the attempted robbery appears to be significantly different from the 2007 robbery.
