SALINA — A Salina man convicted in 2008 of trading methamphetamine for sex with a 13-year-old girl was resentenced to three fewer years in prison. The Salina Journal reported that 43-year-old Kendall Brown was granted a retrial by the Kansas Court of Appeals because he had not been allowed to represent himself. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison for rape, aggravated indecent solicitation of a child and representing a noncontrolled substance as a controlled substance. Brown’s conviction was a result an incident in 2005, in which he told middle school-aged girls that he would get them meth if they would have sex with him. The girls got another 13-year-old girl to have sex with Brown. However, instead of meth, he gave them a bag of salt.
