LAWRENCE – In 2010, 70 percent of Oklahoma voters approved a constitutional amendment banning judges from considering Sharia law in their decisions. Now, legislators in six states are in the process of writing laws that would prohibit their courts from considering or using Sharia law and another 14 are working on laws banning any foreign laws in their courts. However, a couple legal experts say such laws discriminatory and pointless. In addition, they say such laws pose a significant threat to America’s business and national security.
