TOPEKA – Jan. 25 is the deadline to submit applications to the Natural Resources Conservation Service for the Grassland Reserve program. Kansas has the most productive native grassland in the world and the program offers a way for ranchers and farmers to help ensure grasslands remain healthy for years to come, the NRCS’ Eric Banks said. Last year, Kansas received $1.4 million for the program through the 2008 Farm Bill.
