OTTAWA — Two lanes of I-35 southeast of ottawa were blocked for nearly 45 minutes late Wednesday night because of an non-injury accident resulting from icy conditions. Georgia trucker Mahatsion Kifle jack-knifed his semi-truck trying to avoid two other vehicles that spun out on the ice. His truck and trailer ended up on the median, blocking two lanes, and had to be towed away because of the damage, Master Deputy Jerrod Fredricks said. The accident was one of 27 slide-offs reported to the Franklin County Sheriff’s office before 8 this morning, Fredricks said.
