GREAT LAKES, Ill. — Paola High School graduate Jacob Gillespie recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at the Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes. During the eight-week program, Gillespie received training on naval customs, first aid, firefighting, water safety and survival, and shipboard and aircraft safety.
