OTTAWA — The Accel-Pak business will be packed up and moved to Iowa. Accel-Pak owner Gene Geauchamp said Chantland Company will move two Accel-Pack employees from Ottawa to its Humboldt, Iowa, manufacturing plant. Chantland plans to maintain a small sales office in Ottawa, Beauchamp said. He said Accel-Pak is making its final packaging machine and then the equipment and other inventory and records will be moved in about three months. Chantland bought Accel-Pak because it fills a void in its product lines, he said. Chantland’s Web site said the company makes a variety of packaging and industrial materials handling equipment including pulleys and rollers. Accel-Pak makes equipment and machines that make and fill 50-pound bags. Beauchamp owns three Accel-Pak buildings. One has been leased to another business and he said he’s negotiating with another company for leasing another building. Accel-Pak has been in Ottawa since 1994.
