OTTAWA — A jury trial has been set for Dec. 3 for a complicated lawsuit in which Ottawa Unified School District 290 is suing the general contractor in charge of building Lincoln Elementary School and expanding Garfield Elementary School. The school district says some of the epoxy floors and roofs at the schools were substandard and the contractor didn’t fix them despite a warranty. In turn, the contractor, Manning Construction of Lenexa, is suing three of the subcontractors, Cannon Building Systems, Epoxy Coatings Specialists and Uhlman’s Midwestern Erectors. The school district is seeking more than $75,000 in damages.
