LAWRENCE – An author and historian will talk about Thomas Jefferson’s non-political bedfellows at Kansas University’s Lied Center Pavilion Monday night at 7:30. University of New Mexico professor Virginia Scharff will speak on “The Women Jefferson Loved.” The talk is free and open to the public. She wrote a book of the same title. The book reveals how Jefferson’s love of women shaped his ideas, achievements and legacies. Her book also discusses Jefferson’s free and slave families. Scharff has been president of the Western History Association and has written four mystery suspense novels.
