OTTAWA — Ottawa city commissioners are likely to give final approval next week to the outline of a retail district next to the new Love’s Travel Center on U.S. 59 south of I-35. Commissioners are scheduled to approve a final plat for the remainder of the Granger Addition and to formally accept the streets, storm-water drains, the sewer system, and the water and electrical lines in the rest of the area. The action will allow construction in the new area when the economy improves, city manager Richard Nienstedt said.
