OTTAWA — The fifth annual ECKAN Prom Boutique will be 9 a.m.-1 p.m. March 10 at the Ottawa First United Methodist Church. High school girls from Franklin, Miami, Anderson, Osage and Coffey counties are welcome. Ottawa Volunteer Center’s Lisa River said costs associated with proms have escalated in past several and are often a burden for many girls and their families. The boutique gives girls a chance to get a gently-used formal gown for free The boutique will include free samples, hair and make-up consultations, prizes, music and refreshments. ECKAN is also looking for dress donations to the boutique, she said. Some tuxedos are also available for young men. Call 242-7450, ext. 7209, concerning the tuxes or to donate dresses.
