OVERLAND PARK – Former Johnson County district attorney and former U.S. Rep. Dennis Moore said he is in the early phases of Alzheimer’s disease. In a written statement given to the press, Moore said he received the final diagnosis of Alzheimers last year. He chose not to run for re-election in 2010, citing health concerns. Moore said he and his wife Stephene are committed to using his announcment and the opportunity to publicize attention about Alzheimer’s and early-onset dementia. He will remain active in the Heart of America chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
