PAOLA — A Miami County jury has awarded nearly $353,000 to the partners who sued a Paola couple for financial mismanagement. The Miami County Republic reported that Don Morris and Michael Allegri, who were partners in Medical Realty Partners, along with Ernie and Susan Ppratt of Pratt & Associates, had sought more than $1.3 million from the Pratts. The trial took two weeks and more than 25 witnesses. Morris and Allegri say the Pratts mismanaged funds and made unauthorized financial transactions over a 10-year period, and bought two buildings for their own company although the partnership had a purchase option on them. The jurors decided that Ernie Pratt, but not Susan Pratt, must pay punitive damages. A hearing on those damages will be later. Both sides have said they won’t comment until that hearing is complete.
