POMONA — The West Franklin USD 287 school board has called a special meeting Friday night at 6 at the education center in Pomona. The board is expected to pick an architectural firm and work out a plan to call a bond issue for school facilities. After hearing from area legislators, the board decided to hurry forward with a bond issue in case the Legislature, at Gov. Sam Brownback’s urging, end state aid for bond issues on July 1. Other area school districts could also call bond issues before July 1.
