OTTAWA — The Franklin County Sheriff’s office is investigating three burglaries occurring over the holiday weekend. A 36-year-old Baldwin City man reported that rail cars being used for a Boy Scout camp near Old Highway 59 and Stafford Road north of Ottawa were broken into. Several rail-car tools were reported missing and a window and pad lock damaged. The loss was estimated at more than $12,000. A 68-year-old Ottawa reported a burglary in which a toolbox containing miscellaneous tools was stolen from a building near Montana and Kingman roads southeast of Ottawa. The loss was estimated at $400. A 75-year-old Lane man reported that twelve eight-foot metal posts were stolen from the lot of his business in the 500 block of John Brown Road at Williamsburg. The loss was about $200.
