OTTAWA – Franklin County has received eight bids to shore up a Utah Road bridge.
County public works Jim Haag said flooding from a storm in July 2009 eroded a creek bank and exposed the south abutment piling of the bridge. At Wednesday’s county commission meeting, Haag opened all of the bids. The low bid was submitted by Bryan-Ohlmeier Construction, Paola, for $147,017.80. Haag will check the low bid to make sure it meets the specifications and commissioners are expected to award the job next week.
