GARNETT — The acclaimed play about the Holocaust written by Uniontown High School students will be performed in Garnett March 15 “Life in a Jar” is the story of Holocaust hero Irena Sendler, who rescued more than 2,500 Jewish children from the Warsaw Ghetto during World War II. She was part of Zegota, an underground resistance group that saved the children from certain death in Nazi concentration camps. The Garnett Chamber Players and CPCT Theatre for Young Audiences will sponsor the peformance at Thursday night at 7, March 15, at the Anderson County High School auditorium. The cast includes some of the original Uniontown students who wrote the script. Because of the serious nature of the performance, the play is recommended for children older than grade 3 through adult. The Irena Sendler project is non-profit so there is no admission fee for the performance though donations are greatly encouraged. Check the website at www.irenasendler.org.
