POMONA — A grass fire in the 900 block of Rock Creek Road south of Pomona spread to two barns, destroying one barn and damaging another Sunday afternoon. Assistant Pomona Fire Chief Alan Radcliffe said when firefighters arrived, the first barn was engulfed in flames and the fire was starting on the second, an old milk barn. Firefighters stopped the second fire, he said. A tractor and other items in the first barn were also destroyed. A burn ban was in effect Sunday and the property owner ignored the ban and started the grass fire and lost control of it, he said.
