OTTAWA – A deck attached to a house at 2 Brookside Lane was damaged by a fire Sunday night. Assistant Fire Chief Richard Oglesby said smoke and fire were coming from the deck when firefighters arrived. They put out the fire and then removed the damaged part of the deck with a chain saw to prevent the fire from rekindling, he said. The damage was estimated at around $2,500.
There was no immediate cause determined.
