OTTAWA – Hope House in Ottawa has received a $2,500 grant from the Monsanto Fund’s Grow Communities program. Hopkins Farms, rural Overbrook, nominated Hope House for the grant.
Monsanto says the program gives farmers the opportunity to win $2,500 grants for their favorite local nonprofit organizations. Hope House will use the grant to buy supplies for the food pantry and help with emergency services. Hope House’s Mary Lois Yates said that because of the poor economy, her agency spends $8,000 each month on emergency services and the food pantry.
