PAOLA – Beginning today, the Kansas Department of Transportation will conduct a field survey along eight miles of K-68 in Miami County. The survey area extends between the U.S. 169 junction east to U.S. 69 at Louisburg. KDOT said the surveyors will gather information for detailed designs of safety improvements on the K-68 corridor. Survey crews will work along the highway right-of-way and could contact property owners or tenants for permission to enter private property as needed. The survey will continue for nine months, KDOT said. The survey and K-68 improvements are funded under the T-Works transportation program. About $10 million of T-Works money has been allocated for the improvements along K-68.
