OTTAWA – The Ottawa City Commission agreed Wednesday night to offer a property tax break to MacFasteners’ new expansion in the Davis Road Industrial Park. According to city guidelines, the company qualifies for a 55 percent tax abatement on the new building, city finance officer Scott Bird said. Under the agreement, the property tax abatements will be “frontloaded,” with the abatements packed into the first seven years of the 10-year period, he said.
