OTTAWA – Franklin and Anderson counties Republicans will get to choose their favorites for the GOP nomination for president Saturday at Ottawa High School. Doors open and registration begins at 9. No one will be admitted after 1 p.m. One of the organizers, Jeff Richards said this is an important year to go to the Republican caucus. The race is still undecided and the timing of Kansas’ caucus gives the state some leverage, he said. :Although only Republicans can vote, Richard said the public is invited. Most local and many state candidates and officials will attend at some point. There are some reports that a presidential candidate could make an appearance while he travels between Wichita and Johnson County. To vote, Republicans must produce a photo ID in accordance with the state’s new voter ID law, he said.
