LENEXA — Six people were injured, including a Gardner family, Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on I-35 just north of 75th Street. The Kansas Highway Patrol said James Martin, 38, Gardner; was driving north on I-35 when his SUV hydro-planed on the wet road and struck the inside concrete barrier wall. His SUV bounced off the concrete barrier wall into the middle lane and in front of a semi-truck driven by Terry Shea, 64, Longmont, Colo. Shea tried to avoid the SUV but hit it and veered onto the inside shoulder, striking the barrier wall. Troopers said the trailer broke loose from the semi-tractor, went over the barrier wall, overturned and came to rest in a southbound lane. Martin was taken to KU Medical Center, as were four of his passengers, Cimberly Martin, 34; Pierson Martin, 7; and Tristen Martin and Gaven Martin, both 12.
