OTTAWA — Now that the caboose is parked at the Old Depot Museum, Franklin County Historical Society vice president Mark Cation said there is more work on track. Work to do with the caboose includes handicap-accessibility accommodations, fencing and landscaping, repainting and installing exhibits in the caboose, he said. People will even be able to sit in the cupola, he said. Eventually, another rail car will be parked nearby, he said. Ron and Deanne Kimes donated the caboose and Cation raised more than $7,500 in one week to pay the costs of moving it to the museum, which occurred Tuesday.
