WHITING – The Kansas Farmers Union and the Center for Rural Affairs is putting on two value-added agriculture workshops for Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans. Topics include financial planning and resources, organic farming, vegetable farming, the Farmer-Veteran Coalition, farming in urban areas, and business management. Kansas Farmers Union’s Nick Levendofsky saids his group is bringing in farmers to talk about what they’ve done and to give folks ideas on what they could do. The workshops will be Monday in Cico Park in Manhattan and Tuesday in Johnson County Community College’s Capitol Federal Conference Center in Overland Park.
