GARNETT — Garnett auctioneer Ron Ratliff has been listed in critical condition at the University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas Cit, as a result of a weekend fire. The Anderson County Review reported Ratliff, who was taken by air ambulance to the hospital, was injured when he ran into a burning barn early Sunday morning. The fire, which was driven by this weekend’s high winds, destroyed the metal barn and the contents. The barn was full of hay and two skid-steer loaders. Anderson County emergency management director Marvin Grimes told the Review the cause of the fire is still under investigation, but may have been an electrical fire. Five rural departments fought the fire and kept the fire away from the family’s home and other out-buildings west of Garnett. Ratliff operates the Anderson County Sales Company.
