HOMEWOOD — Two women were taken to Overland Park Regional Medical Center following a one-car accident Sunday morning on I-35 near Homewood. The Kansas Highway Patrol said Echo Rodecap, 18, Emporia; was driving south on I-35 when the passenger-side rear tire blew apart, causing her to lose control. Her car rolled over and came to a rest in the center median. Rodecap was taken to the hospital, as was one passenger, Natasha Scharff, 18, Edgerton. The highway patrol said only Scharff was wearing a seat belt. Another passenger, Javier Escobedo, 18, Emporia; wasn’t injured.
