OTTAWA — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will inspect Ottawa’s flood control levee system the week of April 9. The rolling gates that are used to close openings in the levee on the Prairie Spirit Trail and Main Street will be closed for brief periods during the inspections, city public works director Andy Haney said. When the gates at the Main Street bridge are closed, traffic will be detoured onto Second Street and over the K-68 bridge. The Main Street gates are tentatively scheduled to be closed during the very early hours on Wednesday, April 11, Haney said. Otherwise, most of the inspections will occur out of public sight, he said.
