LOUISBURG – U.S. 69 in eastern Miami County was closed early this morning at abouth 311th Street south of Louisburg because of a fatal traffic accident. The north-bound lanes have reopened. According to initial reports, a driver was going north in the south-bound lanes and hit another vehicle head-on. Kansas City television stations report that dispatchers received call about a woman in a mini-van swerving and driving erratically in the north-bound lanes. She crossed over the median and hit a car head-on in the south-bound lanes. The man driving the car was killed and the woman was taken to an area hospital by helicopter for what was described as serious injuries. The names of the drivers haven’t been released.
