CARLSBAD, N.M. — New Mexico authorities arrested three men after cattle rustling took a backseat to crimefighting. The Associated Press reported a Luna County, N.M., sheriff’s deputy pulled over a Honda Civic Friday when he saw a 220-pound calf sharing the backseat of the car with one of the men. The men were jailed on charges of suspicion of larceny of livestock, conspiracy, lack of a bill of sale and exporting livestock.
