TOPEKA — The system for issuing driver’s licenses and Kansas identification cards has crashed across the state because of a problem with a vendor’s server. Division of Vehicles director Donna Shelite apologized for the inconvenience and said state employees are working closely with the vendor to get the system up and running as soon as possible. The outage affects state driver’s license exam stations and some county treasurers’ offices. The titles and registration system isn’t affected. A replacement part for the problem server has been ordered and the Kansas Department of Revenue hopes to have the system back on-line this afternoon.
