OTTAWA — The Franklin County Commission has set a public hearing for May 7 on whether to close four bridges on minimum-maintenance roads. County public works Jim Haag said the county’s most recent bridge study indicates the bridges need repairs or should be replaced. However, Haag said because of the estimated costs and the minimal traffic on the bridges, the county should close the bridges and give them to neighboring property owners. The bridges are in the 100 block of Iowa Road west of Richmond, the 300 block of Texas Road southwest of Lane, the 2700 block of Utah Road near Peoria, and the 4300 block of Riley Road south of Wellsville.
