TOPEKA — The Associated Press reported a Kansas Highway Patrol trooper was startled by the sight of a zebra standing along I-70 just west of Topeka. The zebra was on the shoulder of an I-70 ramp minding its own business when the trooper drove by on a routine patrol, the highway patrol said. The officer pulled over to alert drivers. A local rancher, who owns the animal, later was able to offer treats and entice the zebra back into a fenced enclosure.
