OTTAWA – Franklin County commissioners continued their tussle with County Clerk Shari Perry.
At nearly the last minute, the commission added an executive session to Wednesday’s meeting agenda. They met with consulting attorney Kevin Case who has investigated complaints against perry and forwarded his findings to the Kansas Attorney General. Case requested the executive session concerning a matter involving open records. Perry has filed a freedom of information request demanding to see what Case send to the attorney general’s office. However, unlike past meetings, the result of the executive session was anti-climactic. No action was taken following the session and commissioners turned to other business before adjourning. Earlier this year, Perry brandished the threat of a lawsuit against the commission, and earlier this year, the commission formally censured Perry.
