OSAWATOMIE – Saturday’s Railroad Day event in Osawatomie is all about the railroad. Several rail exhibits and rail-related activities, including an exhibit by the Franklin County Historical Society, will be highlighted at Osawatomie’s MoPac depot. But there will be several events downtown, including a Miami County Family YMCA Run For the Rails 5K at 8 a.m., and arts and crafts fair, food, and lots of live music throughout the day, said Grady Atwater, executive director of the John Brown State Historic Site and one of the organizers. In addition, the John Brown museum will highlight Mary Buster, a descendant who portrays Florella Adair, a half-sister of Brown and involved in the Bleeding Kansas events.
