OTTAWA – Franklin County was the victim of a crime wave. The Franklin County Public Works Department reported vandals spray-painted 13 stop signs earlier this month. The stop signs had to be replaced. The loss to the county was estimated at a little more than $400, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department reported. The public works department also reported thieves stole gravel off the road in the 4400 block of Texas Road southwest of Wellsville sometime earlier this month. The stolen gravel was estimated to be worth $300.
