DE SOTO — The body of a missing 33-year-old Ottawa man has been found in an abandoned refrigerator that had been in a field near De Soto. Acting on a tip to detectives, Johnson County Sheriff’s officers used a search warrant to check a field near 103rd Street and Kill Creek Road, Deputy Tom Erickson said. The coroner’s office identified Gregory Price from a fingerprint, he said. Price was reported missing in early 2011 to Independence, Mo., authorities, Erickson said. Price was last seen alive near De Soto, he said. It appears he may have been in the refrigerator since he was last seen. Investigators are still trying to piece together how Price ended up in the refrigerator, but the death is being treated as a suspicious one, Erickson said.
