FONTANA — A LaCygne man was taken by helicopter to a Kansas City hospital after he was thrown out of his car this morning. Miami County Undersheriff Wayne Minckley said Brent Brintnall was driving south on Hedge Lane when his car went into a ditch and hit a culvert near 367th Street north of Fontana. His car pitched end-over-end, throwing him out. A Miami County detective happened to find the accident scene and found Brintnall lying on the ground, Minckley said. He says the officer gave him CPR and probably saved Brintnall’s life. Brintnall was listed in critical condition this morning.
