OTTAWA — Ottawa University’s 147th commencement is this Saturday afternoon at 1:30 in the Fredrikson Chapel. The ceremony is free and open to the public. Gerald Early, Washington University-St. Louis professor, will give the commencement address entitled “The World as We Find it.” Ottawa University junior Katherine Cottrell will perform “Bel Piacere” by George Fredrick Handel, and senior Ashley Clark will present a Scripture reading. The 122 degrees will be conferred by OU trustee and alumni Richard Jackson. Immediately following the commencement is a reception on the mall, located between the administration building and Ward Science hall. Commencement ceremonies for Ottawa University – Kansas Ccity graduates are May 19 in the Fredrikson Chapel on the Ottawa campus. 2012 graduate Jakoma Machok will offer the commencement address.
