FAIRWAY — The Shawnee Indian Mission State Historic Site will host its annual fiber festival arts and crafts event Saturday from 10 to 4. Area fiber artists and fiber guild members will demonstrate lace making, felt making, yarn dying, and weaving. That includes hands-on demonstrations. Performances of “Citizens of Our Cemetery” will be 1 and 2:30. History volunteer Don Carlton wrote and will perform the play honoring family members and residents of the Shawnee Indian Mission. The Sons of the American Revolution and Daughters of the American Revolution will conduct a re-dedication ceremony in the Shawnee Indian Mission cemetery at 11.
