WICHITA — John William Bardo will be the new president of Wichita State University, effective July 1. Kansas regents named Bardo as the 13th president of Wichita State, succeeding Donald Beggs. Bardo was the chancellor of Western Carolina University until last year when he returned to the classroom as a professor of education. Bardo started his teaching career at Wichita State and for five years, was chair of Wichita State’s department of sociology and social work.
