OTTAWA — The city of Ottawa had a power outage late Sunday night because lightning hit one of the utility circuits. The lightning burned out a primary breaker on the Number-10 circuit, causing outages on several city circuits, city utility director Jim Bradley said. When the utility transferred power to the Second Street substation, a short knocked out the breakers.. Bradley said the city transferred to the southeast substation and restored power to all circuits but the Number-10 circuit. Final repairs were made to Number-10 circuit at about 1:30 this morning, he said. Utility crews then responded to remove a line from a tree at a home on South Sycamore, he said. Crews completed this job about 2:20 this morning.
